After YEARS of wanting a tent, the stars finally aligned just right
and we made the "big" purchase!
Waking up from a not-so-restful first night in the tent...
Addyson's either making a run for the bathroom or breakfast...
My 1st guess= breakfast
When that girl's hungry, nothing can stop her...
Campfire circle
Breakfast mess...Pancakes; eggs and OJ
The view from our campsite...
Nothing exciting compared to camping in Arches campground,
but we found out that you can reserve the campsites now...
It's reserved until Thanksgiving. :(
The girls all slept on a queen-sized blow up mattress...
the first night Addyson decided to come down with a cold...
Coughing and sneezing ALL night long, making it impossible
for any of us to sleep good...
OH, and our blow up mattress must have had a slow leak...
we ended up rolling into the middle
and sleeping on the hard ground...

Glad I remembered Kleenex...
I was getting up with Addyson all night long to wipe her nose...

Even though we didn't get much sleep the first night,
we were determined to have fun...
we were determined to have fun...
I wanted to go see Delicate Arch,
but I knew that it needed to be the first hike of the day
or it wouldn't happen.
but I knew that it needed to be the first hike of the day
or it wouldn't happen.
Searching for lizards...they were everywhere!
Brooklyn came really close to catching one,
but no luck...
but no luck...
See? There's one right there!
I wanted to say that it was a great hike up to Delicate,
but that would NOT be accurate...
but that would NOT be accurate...
Addyson was not liking it, and there was lots of whining
and bargaining...
and carrying.
and bargaining...
and carrying.
Since Ric was in charge of the backpack,
I got to carry Addyson...oh ya.
I got to carry Addyson...oh ya.
She's doing it!
I think it helped to have other people around us hiking...
I think it helped to have other people around us hiking...
a little more motivation...
Refueling...nothing like a good 'ole sugary granola bar for energy...
that's what happens when you send Ric for "snacks"
He's still learning... :) At least we HAD snacks, right?
It's still there!!
I "think" it was worth it...
Addyson didn't think so.
Brooklyn wasn't a real happy camper either...
Brynley was proud that she didn't whine the WHOLE time.
I was worried about the girls running off the edge
trying to follow a little squirrel
who was eating crumbs from their chips...
So, you ask...would I do it again?
Um...only for kids 9 and older...or confined to a back carrier...
One of the highlights...S'mores!
Dead Horse Point
Addyson gets a "little" goofy when she's tired...
Can ya tell??
I haven't been here for YEARS...
New building and new visitor center.
Way nice...
On our way out, we had to check out this teepee...
Brooklyn tripped and FELL out of the teepee right before this shot...
She's such an actress that you can't even tell! lol
We had such a great time...
The weather was perfect and the scenery was the best!
We also stopped at my favorite arch...Sandune Arch where we ate our lunch
and the girls played in the sand for an hour or so...
Can't wait to go back!

How fun! We did Arches last November. It was so awesome! The kids loved playing in the sand! Looks like you guys had a great time too. :)
Oh my gosh. You are such a trooper. It is beautiful, but the heights would freak me out with my kids too. Someday perhaps...
Awesome pictures! Your family is so cute! Definitely going to have to do that this summer.
Sounds like you guys had fun! I love your posts! They are always so creative. Your kids are so cute and are getting so big! We had a similar camping trip this summer, and it was actually pretty miserable but after it was over, we all talked about how fun it was... it is funny how it happens that way...:)
I'm not a fan of heights either...I would be a nervous wreck there with my kids...good advice waiting until they are at least 9! Looks like a fun trip though!
