There's something about nature...

Last weekend, the van broke down for the 3rd time in the last 6 months as we were trying to make it to Brynley's last soccer game (8:30am on a saturday, but that's a complaint for another day). And of course, we broke down as we were trying to find our way through detours because of a bike race and running race going on that same morning. So, we left the car (no mechanic was open at 8:30am anyway) and booked it through the cemetary over to the park. We made it in time for 1/2 time, and Brynley scored a goal. They were happy to have her there...We got back to the car, and ended up driving it to the mechanic where it stayed for 2 more days...the mechanic let us borrow his truck in the meantime...
So on Sunday, we packed a lunch and headed up AF Canyon. Addyson fell asleep on the way up, which gave me some time to spend sketching rocks and trees with Brynley and Brooklyn. They really got into it and did a great job.
Brynley and Brooklyn were scared to stand by this "cave." They thought bats were going to come flying out at any second...
Climbing around. Brooklyn thinks she is an expert climber with her hiking shoes on. I had to stop her several times from scaling the mountain...
Addyson joined in on the fun shortly after...We all had a great time, except for the first 10 minutes when we were attacked by bugs. They wanted our food...I'm glad we survived.
There is something about being up in the mountains that calms me...I seem to be able to forget about all my stresses and just relax and breathe in the fresh air. You just don't want to come back home sometimes...

Oh my gosh! Sometimes I wish we lived in the time of horses and buggies so we could just shoot the horse when it breaks down and hitch up another one!
