Animal Rescue Party!

Happy 7th Birthday Brynley! For Brynley's birthday party this year, I got an idea to have an animal rescue party, where the guests bring dog food, cat food or cat litter (instead of gifts) to donate to the local animal shelter. I explained this idea to Brynley, and she seemed excited to be able to give to the animals who didn't have homes. We were so happy that so many of her friends could come! Even a friend from way out in Eagle Mountain came, where we used to live.

When the guests arrived, we played a really fun game of

Cat, Cat, DOG!

Then we had a relay race to "Bandage up the dog..." (with a whole toilet paper roll, lol) It was hilarious...

For dessert, we had "Dibs" (chocolate covered ice cream bits, which resembled dog food) in cat bowls. I told them they could eat like a dog or cat, so most of them dug right in with their mouths. How often do you get to do that?? They all got to keep their kitty bowls.

WOW!! This is all the food that was donated! Thanks everyone!!
We made a trip to the animal shelter in Lindon a couple days later. They were so suprised and thankful to be getting all that food and litter. It was a great learning experience and something we will definitely do again...
