Tarantula?

"Tarantula is the common name for a group of hairy and often very large spiders. Despite their often scary appearance, none of the "true" tarantulas are known to have a bite that is deadly to humans."
Wikepedia
(Hopefully the ones around here are "true" tarantulas).

This is what we found yesterday in our front yard. Brooklyn thought it was VERY fascinating...

No visual effects or graphics were used in this picture...and a spider WAS harmed (otherwise, Brooklyn would not be having her face down that close to it). :)

Wow, she is so brave. There isn't enough money in the world to get me to do that. We have been having tons and tons of black widows around our place.....trade ya??

Ummm...gross! What a brave girl! Any spider I see, I freak out and wait for one of the boys to get it!

N-A-S-T-Y. And gross. And now my skin is crawling, thank you.

We found a BLACK WIDOW on my porch last week. It was dead and I was grateful. And FREAKED. That's where I send my boys out to play--aaaaahhh!
