and after all that...

Today has been one of those days where nothing really works out and no one gets along too great. Yes...even WE have those days, if any of you are wondering "what? the perfect family? not getting along...I know, I know...

We walked out of 2 different stores because Brynley (surprisingly) and Brooklyn (not surprisingly) were NOT staying by me; Addyson was screaming (which turns head from miles away) and running away from me with her new "squeaky" shoes (which were VERY annoying and not helpful because I knew where she was the whole time).

Brooklyn fell asleep on the way home, and Brynley, Addyson and I had a picnic on the side of the house where the only shade is. One of my problems of living out here is #1 Wind, and #2 No trees (or none big enough to provide any shade; or the wind is blowing so much, the shade is never in the same place). At least we have a cat to keep away the "voles" (or whatever the heck they are). In fact, we had a present on our front doorstep this morning for like the 10th time this last month. She was kind enough to place it away from the door so we wouldn't step on it though....Everyone in the neighborhood loves our cat and tries to feed her. No wonder she looks pregnant. (But she's fixed, so no worries). She's even survived an Addyson choke hold...the cat's eyes look like they're going to pop out of her head...what a good cat. Good 'ole Leya...(Princess Leya that is)...

So, after our AWEsome day of whining and fighting and being cranky at each other (I will spare you all the details), I sent the girls downstairs to their room to go to bed. Now, let me just say that usually, Ric or I will sit on Brooklyn's bed until she's asleep...yes....EVERY night. Well, I told them they could read a few books and that I would be down in a little bit (it was one of THOSE days). I attempted to clean the kitchen with a couple of interruptions of the girls coming up for a "snack" and a drink. I sent them back downstairs, even though Brooklyn said that she would rather clean with me...After cleaning the kitchen, I went down to see the damage, and this is what I found:

Now, the beds are usually on separate sides of the room, but every morning Brooklyn wakes up in bed with Brynley. Which is fine with me...I'd rather her be in bed with Brynley then wandering upstairs to get in bed with Ric and I. So, Brooklyn had decided that tonight she would move the beds together...

And it seems so worth it to see them holding hands after a day like today...I hope they will always find comfort with each other...especially when they start having their own friends and different interests...I am so thankful for my girls...

I think I'm going to blow up the last one and frame it in their room...so they can remember what great friends they really are (in those not-so-nice moments)...

And Cara-can't wait to see you guys again...maybe we can make a trip up this summer like we did last year.

way cute pics. Isn't it fun to have them close in age for times when they do things like this.

That is so sweet! And every mother's dream. Lucky for your girls that their mother is a faithful blogger to capture it forever! :) Seriously, I am waiting for an end of the day like this with Taj and Brody--and now I have hope! Thanks! :)
