Brooklynland!!

I made this cake last month for Brooklyn's birthday. I saw it in a magazine and thought it was so cute. Brooklyn was way excited about it, so we decided to make her birthday a candyland theme. The cake was waaayyyyy more work than I was expecting and I bought so much candy for it. You can't just buy a FEW skittles or M&M's. You have to buy the WHOLE package. So I was THROWING candy away after the party! I have NEVER bought that much candy in my life! We had giant candies made from paper plates covered with cellophane and we played pin the sucker on the stick. We also had purple plums that we tried to make in the basket. We colored candyland pages and ate cake. I'm sure the parents were so excited that I was sending their kids home on a sugar high! It was fun, but I don't think I have the time or energy to do that again! I kept asking myself if I was insane when I was spending all this time making the cake and getting all of the decorations ready. :) Yup...I guess I am insane!
