Things you may not know about me...

I used to REALLY not like my freckles and wanted to cover them up, but I've accepted them and actually kind of like them now
I don't like wearing glasses
The only time I wear glasses is at night, right before bed
They sit right by my bed, so if anything happens, I will be able to see who, what, when, where...
I used to sleep in my glasses
In Junior high, (when I wore glasses during the day) I was hit by a ball right in my face and it broke my glasses.
My dad glued them with super glue (super nerdy) and accidently got some on the glass part...oops.
I wore them for like a year with super glue blocking part of my vision...
My glasses were GYNORMOUS! Was that really the style? I needed some help
I actually don't remember much from junior high...only singing in choir and the time when some girl wanted to beat me up (she got me mixed up with another girl with the same name as me), but this thankfully never happened...
I think I played with dolls until like 5th grade
I babysat until I was 21
My first car was a '78 Camaro...yellow-green...
We called it the "Sprite-mobile." I even had a Sprite can hanging from the rear-view mirror.
I didn't appreciate that car for what it was in high school, it was only until people started saying how cool it was that I drove it. I just thought of it as the car we bought from this old lady who drove it to the grocery store, bowling and home..."old ladies car."
Since being married (6 years) we have gone through 10 cars...
We started with 3 (Ric's Bronco,my Jeep and 280ZX)
The Bronco blue a head gasket while we were on our honeymoon (someone else was driving it) and the 280Z caught on fire in the Shopko parking lot.
We traded in my Jeep for a 2001 Pontiac Grand AM
That was totalled shortly after getting rear-ended on Halloween night
The girls were all dressed up, ready to go trick-or-treat at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
An older lady was stopped in the lane (thinking it was a turn lane) and someone rear-ended us, pushing us into her car. We got hit twice from behind...
The older lady took off, thinking it was "road rage." Of course, we found this out later. We thought she was "leaving the scene" of the accident...
I think we borrowed my dad's Buick Riviera for a while. Man, was that a boat and did we certainly get looks everywhere we went. Fun car, but a gas hog.
We were leaving for Spokane, and my parents gave us their old Taurus station wagon. That got us through about 6 months and decided to give up on us.
So now we have no car and don't know what we're going to do
I was at a playgroup and happened to mention our situation. One of the ladies there (had never seen her before) told me that they were moving and we could HAVE their car! It was rear-ended and the back didn't open...there was plastic and duck-tape holding the car together in the back, but it was a FREE car that RAN! What an answer to prayer.
Due to a job change, we moved from Washington to Sacramento, so we found a "new" car and left the FREE car back in Washington.
So, our "new" car was a Taurus SHO which gave us problems the whole time we had it...we found out later that someone had put an older engine in it...
We sold it and borrowed one of my parent's cars. It was a 2-door with no heat, but it ran!
The girls would bundle up in their fleece blankets and we kept a towel in the car to wipe the windows when they would fog up.
It lost a tire coming around a corner on Christmas Eve. They had forgotten to tighten the lugnuts...nice, huh?
After driving this car around for a few months, we bought my sister's ex-boyfriends Ford Explorer...not because I wanted to get back at my sister for something, but because he made it possible for us to get it with money being tight at the time...
This summer we really didn't like driving the Explorer around with no air conditioning, so when the time was right, we decided to get a.............
VAN!! (Paid for in full...so thankful for that)This deserves it's own number because I REALLY didn't want a van and told my dad it was a van of convenience, not choice. AND...even after driving it around for a few months, I still don't like it...AND it's white...no personality at all...same 'ole same 'ole...but it is reliable and has air conditioning and gets better gas mileage than our Explorer...
Just recently we have also aquired a 2005 Mercedes...Ric's work car...no kids...white leather...WAY too many buttons...fun to drive...Kind of a suprise...nice to have 2 cars...
I really don't like VANS! Yes, STILL...
Okay...enough about cars...One of my passions is Disco Skating. I don't get to go much anymore, but when I hear Disco music, I have this urge to get out on the disco floor...
I have never broke a bone skating, but did break my arm racing my brother to the doors at the mall when I was 11. My mom was really excited about that one.
I almost fainted getting my blood drawn. My eyes were going dark; my fingers were tingling; and my ears started ringing. They finished and took the needle out just in time.
I went sledding with my friends when I was about 13 and didn't bail off in time and hit my back into a tree at the bottom of a hill. I lost my breath and passed out. When I woke up there was a crowd around me and someone had called an ambulence. I ended up being fine, but I think it might be a cause of some of my headaches.
When I met Ric, I was working for Accucheck (they make diabetic meters) and never thought that all of my knowledge of diabetes would come into use when Ric was diagnosed with type 1 about a month after we were married.
At a youth outing to Lake Powell, I was the only one (including all the leaders) who didn't jump off a fairly low cliff...I was so close; even counted to 3 as I watched my friend jump off leaving me standing on the edge...I managed to climb back down and never jumped. Chicken? I don't know...
I don't like swimming.
I "got up" water skiing one time. I was without my glasses or contacts...
In high school, I went with the art club down south to go river rafting down the Green River. We got caught in an undertow and my glasses flew off my face, slid off the side of the raft and were lost forever in the river. I started crying because I knew my dad had warned me to wear the nerdy strap to hold them on...
I wore my friends glasses the rest of the time. They were the wrong prescription (of course) and I got stranded hiking in Goblin Valley. Embarrassing...
I can make a "W" with my tongue.
I hate meat pies...I still remember when my mom made me eat one. I was holding my nose and taking a drink after every bite. They totally make me gag...
When I'm pregnant I love Sour Patch Kids...you know the sour/sweet gummy candy. I could eat a whole bag. (And I'm not making any kind of announcement here people...)
I never went on a date until I was like 19. It was sooooo uncomfortable. We went with his sister and her husband and we watched this romantic movie...I wanted to die!
I never kissed anyone until after my mission...and I won't say when or who...that's all you need to know.
If I was on a "lame" date on a saturday night, I would try to end it early, you know, "I'm really tired," or "I have to get up early," or whatever and then come home and change into my disco clothes; grab my skates and go to Classic skating. At least I could say I had a good time then...
I never thought being a mom could be so tough sometimes.
I wanted to be the coolest mom ever...turns out I am!! (Let's stay positive here...)
I gained 80lbs when I was pregnant with Brynley. Don't listen to anyone who tells you, "you are eating for two," or "it doesn't matter what you eat, you'll go back to normal." YA RIGHT!
I still have a few pants and shirts that I've been holding onto for like 6 years, waiting for the day that they will button after I put them on. Well, I'm slowly realizing that it's not going to happen! Move on!! They might come back in style though! :)
I love camping and being out in the mountains.
I loved Young Women's camp. I would get so excited the night before and wouldn't be able to sleep. I would always end up with a headache the first day of camp.
I grab my bottom lip and pinch it when I'm worried or thinking hard...

If I don't post this now, you will never see it. I might add more later...this could end up being a really long list...
